Your Poems
I read your book of poems today
It adjusted my view and tore down the walls I hadn’t realized I’d been holding
Understanding everything that’s been broken
Understanding everything I have been neglecting
Understanding why I feel as though I am in pieces and tearing apart
Made me realize the one that’s been truly hurting is myself
Allowed me to feel everything my mind has been telling me to shut away and ignore for so long
Your beautifully written poems had an impact on me that I will forever be thankful for

Have you ever read something that really made you think and completely changed your perspective? Envision that moment and how it made you feel. This feeling is what inspired this poem. I wrote this poem after reading a poetry book by an incredible poet named Billy Chapata. It sparked a period of realization and growth in my life.
