We forced her into maturity,
way before her time.
Were we in the right?
Or were we out of line?
She’ll be fine,
they always are.
Can she survive?
Will she make it out alive?
If she makes it out alive,
she won’t be able to live.
She’ll only care for the child,
running twenty miles.
How can I support myself?
Do I get money for this?
A $700 hospital bill for the towel they wrapped the baby in,
makes me quiver my chin.
What about work?
I can’t just leave.
I’m worried about her,
what if she can’t breathe?
Of course I care for my child,
even if I can’t care for myself.
Everyone says they care for this child,
but what about me?
