I found the dark caves in the woods,

I filled them with innumerable donations;

Fixed the suppers for the worms and the bugs;

Whining, rearranging the misaligned,

No longer do I fear to speak,

No longer am I asleep,

I awake from my slumber,

And trumpet fanfare lightens the sky.

I part the trees that block the sun,

The earth is blessed with golden rays,

The bugs crawl into places unseen,

The scared deer come and prance playfully.

Suddenly, all the animals dance in a circle.

No shadows cover the ground,

Previous enemies make up for war,

thoughtful smiles in every corner,

And old party members come back for one last dance.

I sit on a once glorious throne.

The vines and moss cover it in peace.

I close my eyes and start to sleep while knowing,

The animals in the woods will never stop dancing.

This poem was inspired by experiences I had throughout a four-year-long period of my life.
