Denial
You said something wrong.
The sky falls dark with your thoughts,
the stars fade as dark gray fog fills around you;
your heart beats faster as you put your hands over your head.
"Am I crazy?" you ask.
your question left unheard.
in the empty silence you hear a laugh,
a soft, meaningless laugh
and it plunges you deeper into the hole.
You fall to your knees, no longer in control,
the fog closes in as you slowly go blind;
blind to reality, blind to them
in the emptiness, you thought.
You thought until there was something,
More laughs appear, jokes, 'teases'
until you open your eyes, and it is empty again.

This piece is about how I felt today. I wont go into detail but 'Denial' is about overthinking, overreacting, assuming. When you make a mistake, the world does not end.
