Favorite Quote:
"The universe is a cruel, uncaring void. The key to being happy isn't to search for meaning. It's to just keep yourself busy with unimportant nonsense, and eventually, you'll be dead." - BoJack Horseman

My chest is moving,

I count my breath.

1, 2, 3, 4...

My feelings start to roar.

"Calm down",

I scream to myself.

It'll be over soon,

It'll be over soon,

Please, be over soon...

stop,

Stop,

STOP.

My hands to my chest,

The stabbing pain will only last a moment I say.

The birds sing out my window,

The sun is blazing in on my pillow,

Won't I ever find this peace?

The author's comments:

This poem was based on a discussion I had in my Women's History class. We watched a video about a news reporter (Dan Harris), who had a panic attack on national television. I think I inserted his point of view into how I felt when I had a panic attack about a month ago when I was alone in my room. It's scary.
