To Fly Like Icarus
I want to love something like Icarus loved the sun,
like he loved the freedom
To love something as deeply and truly as Icarus loved his freedom must be a burden,
I wonder how it feels
how it feels to know that whatever you love is just out of your reach
so close yet so far
I want to fly as Icarus flew
even if I suffer the same fate
to be so close to the sun must have been an honor,
even if in his last moments his wings were on fire and he was falling from the sky and into the rocky ocean,
he died laughing
Icarus died free
how wonderful that must be to die free
I want to go out just like Icarus did
free and happy
I want to go out with my wings on fire
I want to go out knowing that I'm about to crash into the rocky ocean
I want to go out differently than the way I came in
I want to go out free and with no worries
