A dazed yellow pirouetting into sight

drunken in its beauty.

A harsh note leaves with it the bitter taste of vinegar

and a streak of crimson red.

Notes inked into flesh.

Followed by plumes of color.

Shades of gray and white and black

the shadowed image of hollowed bone shown in sync with the airy crescendos.

Organ and theremin spiraled in parallel

with burgundy and charcoal melting its way off paper.

Beats engulfed by waves of blue

saddened with the fading tune.

While whips of orange brand themselves into the sky

fading the shades into one

as the melody begins anew…

The author's comments:

I am someone who experiences synesthesia which in my case means that when I hear words or names I see a color in my head which is what I wanted to show in this poem.
