Space
As humans we are searching for something.
Hungry for knowledge.
Desperate for some sort of connection.
Reaching for something trying to make all of this seem meaningful.
Trying to escape our own realities by running to the stars.
Reaching for an escape that just manages to slip through our grasp.
An escape we all claim we need so desperately.
A vacation from all the problems we have here on Earth.
From the amount of plastic we have thrown into our beautiful oceans,
To the burning wildfires in our forests.
The factory stacks which point arrows of smoke to the sky.
Directing us where to run.
So instead of finding a solutions for our problems,
We run.
We run off into space.
Such a vast, beautiful place.
Just as Earth once was.
Until we f***ed it up.
Just as we will probably f**k up space too.
But yet again we will run.
Trying to escape the inevitable.
Running from our truths.
Not wanting to face the reality of them.
So as a human I’ve learned one thing.
I’ve learned that problems will arise.
And instead of fixing them,
I’ve learned to run.
Run into the vastness of space,
And leave all our problems behind.
