The darkness anticipating daybreak,

Splashes of vibrant colors

Not yet revealed.

A dull light coats the sky,

Light enough to see, but barely.

A day hardly begun

Awaiting the first golden rays.

Every day a new array of hues,

A new chance to see

What promises of beauty

The sky is holding.

Beautiful byzantine blues

Perfect pale pinks

Opalescent ochres

Radiant ruby reds

Explode across the heavens in a dazzling display

But

There’s the lingering doubt

That what appears will dissatisfy

The past presentations’ expectations.

What if the sun never peeks over the horizon?

Its golden rays never warming the ground

No spectacle of lights to announce

The break of day.

What if we remain forever suspended

In a cold limbo?

Darkness coating the Earth,

With no end in sight?

The sun always rises

Lifting above the clouds

In a constantly-shifting way.

The sun always rises,

New beginnings always come.

Even if they are unpredictable

And even uncertain,

The sun always rises

In the most beautiful way.

I gained inspiration for this after a conversation with someone close to me about the future.

This poem is descriptively beautiful...
I really love the colour adjectives and alliteration in the fourth stanza...
