House of our lives and lies
you gave me satisfaction
From my own mind
Our friendship was like a signed contract
The terms and conditions I didn't read
The words got smaller
As if you didn't want me to find out
That like a house
There were broken floors
Each time one broke
Another step down
The door was open
Letting strangers in
Our lives once made for us
Was now for others
And just like that
You moved again
This time never coming back in

This piece talks about my ex-best friend and brings attention to the pain people go through during these times. This work compares a house to a friendship and the way people choose without knowing. She was my best friend and will always have a special place in my heart. I love her to the moon and never back because there is no end to my love for her.
