She will always be a part of me

Yet she’s dead to me

Someone that I used to know

But had to let go of

I kept losing because of her

She ran herself in the ground

Making me hit rock bottom

She didn’t know when to let go

I’ve learned better

She will stay with me

In my heart and my head

But I had to let go

To stop losing

For a lot of transgender people learning to let go of who you were to yourself and the outside world takes a lot of work especially when some still see you as that person. I've grown out of the little girl who was so intent on saving everyone but herself. I'm trying to be a person who puts on my oxygen mask before helping others, so to speak.
