You
A hole inside me,
filled with a shadow of absence,
known as a life of presence.
trapped,
Was the love stagnated behind,
floated
Was the memory bypassed beside.
You left with no sign.
Only the blowing bubblegum would recall
The sweetness it once had.
Only the paddle ball you played would understand
the warmth it possessed.
Only the oak tree branch you once sit would remember
The weight of your soul.
Only the heartbeat would tell
How loudly it has once throbbed.
Only the blood flowing through my vessels would know
How acres of red,
spread under the blazing sun in the midsummer noon,
have once bloomed for you.
