With each bump
And each acceleration
I learned just how much I was at the car's mercy
Every speed hump
And every pothole
Showed me just how easy it is to lose control
Maybe that's why
When those local teenagers were found
Their car flipped over into the ditch
My dad reminded me
'The rules of the road still apply to you'
