I'm Hungry

those 8 letters leaving my lips 

hoping I get a response 

something along the lines of "me too"

please don't judge me 

or get weird 

I'm simply saying how I feel 

while you sit there starving me 

deciding weather you're ready to share your food 

you taunt me 

make me think you're about to 

hand me a plate 

or maybe explain to me why you can't

there will be times we share a meal 

but if I ever ask if you're hungry 

it's always a no 

even when you haven't eaten all day 

you say you're full

then those 8 letters leave my lips again 

I love you 

and you say nothing 

so I sit 

and I wait 

and I starve
