My Home- A Ode To Camp O
Home,
A place where you get to roam.
Home,
A place where there is no cell service and no Google Chrome.
I want to go back,
To see nature's beauties; like sunflowers and lilac.
But, alas, I can’t go back now,
Not while there are still snowplows.
Summer, my lover, can’t you come soon enough?
Please, take me back to the cabins of Brebeuf!
Take me back to campfire songs and late-night talks,
Back to the place with no clocks.
Take me back to the chappel, canoeing, and the hikes,
Back to the place where it’s alright to act somewhat child-like.
These winter months feel like years without Camp O,
Just 7 more months to go.
Home,
A place where I’m anything but alone.
Home,
A place where there are no phones.
I love this place, I really do,
And I can’t wait for Camp O in 2022.
