Favorite Quote:
MUH HAH HAH HAH!

Colors and sound on the water top

Stones and sand under the surface

A thousand, a million little worlds living

Just beyond my reflection.

Water is a fraction bar

Sunlight is the numerator

Here the time lands like numbers

Floats away on refracted beams

Here my sinking foot lies and slumbers

Gathers up its little bits of dreams.

If only

I could be a water strider

Skim on the surface

Swim the invisible space between

Warm and cold

Night and day

Right and wrong.

The dreams I throw are like stones on the water top

Nobody sees where they’ve gone

Only the widening space

Where they could’ve been.

Dying men shoot arrows in the air

Sunlight glistens by with joy so free

Gives the empty water top its share

An arrow’s echo dies within the tree.

The author's comments:

This is inspired by Longfellow's "The Arrow and the Song." My poem compares arrows with the harsh and judgmental ascepts of life, while sunlight represents joy and freedom.
