When I was young

When everything was bright and fun

I loved being me 

And living so free

School was the best place ever

Sometimes I wished I could stay forever

Learning was so engaging

Hanging with friends was so amazing

But now I’ve become a junior

And I’m scared to become a senior

I’m unsure of being me

And life just isn’t the way it used to be

School is so boring

Every day I dread going 

To the place where I feel drained

Since all my friends are stained

In the drabby color of school

Where I just feel like a fool

I have no dreams

I have no plans

I have no passion

I have no vision

Sometimes it feels like I’m running in the dark

Grasping for an unknown light

I feel like giving up

But I’ve come too far

I can’t give up now

That I will not allow

I miss the old days 

I hope time just stays

So that I don’t have to say
