goodbye
i lay my head on your shoulder
as we listen to a bittersweet symphony
of lost chances for a blooming romance
and as the harp strums and the chimes ring
a dark, ink-stained tear falls down my face
and bleeds into your shirt
as we listen to the music intertwine
the last note fades away
the sudden claps and “bravos” surround us
as we sob in silence
for what could’ve been
and never will
