Give the ones you love , the wings to fly roots to come by and reasons to stay …….

The July sun made my eyes squint .

A brisk wind washes my face ,

As the water swirls in gentle circles

    from below .

    Beneath the Lilac Canopy ,

    Books are scattered around ,

As I rested in the shade on the cotton

    hammock .

I can hear the olive trees swaying in

the breeze, As the mountain's echoed

a river song in my ears.

All the flowers bloomed as the rain shaken

Chicago stars fell from the sky.

Serenity as the evening has awakened,

As the birds chirped and the owl hooted

giving the faint reminder that Dawn has

    fallen into Dusk .

The mini lop rabbit sped into the bushes

    disappearing out of sight .

"Goodnight Mr Owl! " and with that I drifted

     off into sleep .........

The author's comments:

I got the inspiration to pen down this poem, after reading the " The Raven " by Edgar Allan Poe. The rhyme scheme soothened my mind and inspired me to write these lines .

There is something infinitely healing in the repeated refrains of nature—the assurance that dawn comes after night, and spring after winter. —Rachel Carson

I love how tranquil you made the scene sound, it was like I was really there. ♥️
