And there they are!

Sitting on the white polished surface

Greeting me with the warm scent

Bestowing upon me their tempting snarl

Dripping with fresh maple syrup

Headed with a perfect cube of butter

I look at them in uttermost awe

Before I take in a tantalizing bite

Just as scrumptious, just as flawless

Fulfilling the desire of every tastebud

No sooner do I find myself staring at the spotless plate

Oh, pancakes! what a delight you were...
