A woman who has cut marks
and a cigarette
and a bad word tattooed on her arm,
a sad old man with breathing tubes,
a wasted young man
with a vase of carnations,
and the teenage girl.
Ah yes, the teenage girl.
Sixteen and too young-looking
and sad, sad, sad.
Why does she sound
so much like me?
