Define
People always encourage “new”,
Try new foods,
Engage in new activities,
Explore new challenges,
Step out of your comfort zone,
Expand in the world,
Find something about yourself,
It can be rather fun sometimes,
Like stepping on that first roller coaster
with determination and fear,
Other times rather embarrassing,
Like learning to swim when
you’re 12 and 5’7” with a high bone density
that makes it look like you’re drowning instead,
But it’s the so-called “experience”
that triumphs it all,
Makes you realize
what you’ve been missing out on,
That the ride wasn’t bad at all
and now you wanna go on the biggest one,
Or that swimming is useful after all
and all that embarrassment was worth it
to possibly save your life in the future,
In the end, my brain wanders to
its unnecessary and mindless thinking,
“What took you so long?
Why didn’t you just take the first step?”
