The Monster
I look down the forgotten road
Looking for the things I know
I see something there
I see white teeth and fleshy gums
eyes staring into mine
It asks me if I want to know
how to know if I've been tricked
I come on down and it gives a smile
It sees me there and opens wide
I fall down and I fall inside
It's gaping maw closes around
I guess to know if I've been tricked
is by falling down to face the beast
It was watching me since noon
high above the emerald waves
It wanted me to fall
Sometimes it's hard to know what's wrong
I guess you just have to be strong
Not let the beast consume
For all you know he was in my room
I could be him and you don't know
It was waiting and you didn't know
Just don't run out of hope

I don't really know what that was. My fingers had a mind of their own.
