LAVENDER

Lavender eyes, bright smile
lovely start of a new life
First cry and laughter,
memories to keep
Yet, I query my reason.

First, it is those rising silhouettes
with words of faith
then the surmises of the same
where would I be
in ages to come no one knew but I

Tried to prove
tried to bay
in the end,
nothing unveiled me

Was not I criticised
Reeled and thrown off
pleading for your hands
as I lay in my abyss
Why did I go on?
Was it worth the misery mine?

Thoughts rebounded,
as my withered self
fell into the shadow's arms
he gave me that deceiving smile of mine
staring into those lavender eyes.

This poem expresses the feelings of a solitary mind, fighting with no one by their side and finding a reason for their existence in society.
