I would never know
All I see is a
web of lies
These lies have been
Rooted deeper than
I thought possible
What secrets
Are hidden
Amongst these leaves
Will we ever know the truth?

This poem was written from a place of frustration, I found out something about my family that hurt me a lot. I'm incredibly grateful that my parents taught me that way. It would've destroyed me otherwise. My family is chosen and made, it has nothing to do with blood or a shared last name.
