Up North
On a warm summer day
As soon as I step out of the car
The air filled with a thick cedar smell
Trees howling in the wind
Squalls chirping through out the woods
Before you know it the skeeters are feasting on your blood.
On a crisp fall day
As soon as I step out of the car
The freezing air feels like thousands of little needles
Once I adapt to the cold
I take a big deep breath and the feeling of the cold thin air is so relaxing
The trees look out of a painting
red,orange,and yellow
I take one step inside the house
Flies are going crazy by the lights
The chilly damp air is thick
Lady bugs on the wall
But that is all fixed by a nice toasty fire in the wood burner.
