The Dinner
Like most summer weekends it was never cold.
We could all hear the dog barking as my mother just came home from work,
We could all hear the steaks sizzling as my father just finished cooking on his grill,
My older sister who just finished her tiring rehearsal,
My younger sister just ended her exciting vocal practice,
My older brother finally got to destress after relaxing from his game,
But I was waiting.
We all discussed our day,
Each one of us brought something new.
I didn’t speak
For I knew that this was their day.
