Don't Say So
"I really was born at 9:29 am on nine twenty-nine. You think I'm lying but
I'm being dead serious," Ashley said with bubbly laughter.
"I need to see this birth certificate,” he told her.
“Okay, I'll prove it.”
Well, who is she
She's almost twenty five
Her voice sounds like bourbon
Pretty face with knives behind
Screaming with pink flowers and
black chains
And I’m almost seventeen
“You’re so cute,” he smiled at me resting his head on his hand.
But I know I can't keep my thoughts in one direction.
She takes a breath and goes,
"I think I have a confession to make,
I have to say I was really born at 9:26 am, it's on my birth certificate
I'm a liar,
I'm a f**king liar."
“Don't tell me things like that,” I told him.
Because I’m just scared to be a liar.
To turn my words of the past around and
runaway.
