Firework Blossoms

Fireworks blossom

In the back of my mind

I used to be able to see,

Fireworks blossom

Behind a child’s eyes.

Fireworks blossom

In my sleep

I used to be be able to see

Fireworks blossom

In my daydreams

Fireworks blossom

From the ink my pen

I used to be able to see

 Fireworks blossom

In legends

Firework blossoms

In the back of my mind

I see them now

Firework blossoms

Behind Teenager’s eyes

Firework blossoms

And bleed

I see them now

Deep wounds

Puncturing youth

Firework blossoms

From the barrel of a gun

I see them now

As the innocent run

Firework blossoms

Up in the sky

And rain down bitterly

On those below

Firework blossoms

Top of the world!

I see them now

Casting sparks aside

Nobody can

Nobody will

Blow them out

 The firework blossoms

Firework blossoms

Used to sprout from the ground

Blossoms echoing the sound

The sound of love

Of light, imagination

But thorny weeds

Sprouting from the sky

Fireworks begin to blossom

And echo cries

Firework blossoms

Sprout from unexpected places

Painting pained tears

Gentle on their faces

And echo in their tears and eyes

Firework blossoms

Firework blossoms

Resign to colors

Of grim mission

Colors which echo with dreaded boom

Fireworks blossom

Firework blossoms,

In cold flashes

Of silver and gold

And red, crimson,

Crimson red.

Firework blossoms

Crimson red.

I used to be able to see

Firework blossoms

Behind a child’s eyes.
