Two Faces
Do you think if you'd ever look close enough
You'd see a face hidden in the darkness
Living in the stony desolation of ones heart
Ripping all that there is apart.
Do you think if you'd ever look close enough
You'd hear that voice shouting out loud
You'd see the artificial smile forced out
So many times that now that's what's natural
Do you think if you'd ever look close enough
If you'd look beyond the varsity Jersey and shorts
Look beyond the mini skirt and leather corset
You'd see what has to be seen, what wants to be seen
Do you think if you'd ever look close enough
You'd see the crimson tears shed inside
You'd see the colourful mind now easily lying
You'd see the vibrant soul slowly dying
You'd see the wild best inside desperate for freedom
Living by chewing away on sanity
Do you think if you'd ever look close enough
Look closely at one another
Look deep, look inside, look beyond boundaries set
You'd see what always has been there;
TWO FACES.

It's a world of pretend and that's the only way to keep going. At least that's what we think, especially as teenagers. We show a face we've made just to hide our natural one. Then slowly, over time we don't realise when artificial meets natural. That is what forms the crux of this piece and I really hope that after this some of us will at least try to show who we really are....from my experiences all I can say is that once you start, it's not difficult at all.
