A statue appears in my view

It’s of a bear; gazing through

The small crowds of students walking

Shuffling their feet; talking

The bear’s fur glossed against brown wood

Back arched upward; lifting a paw as it stood

Some time later,  I walk through a path with paw prints

Carved lightly against its graying hints

Screens of glass enclose the walls

Natural life inhabiting; amidst the sound of soft footfalls

Two bears appeared through the glass

Their log-colored fur in a mass

Glistening against warm sunlight

One is lying down, the other is staying upright

The bear trudges along the grass with big paws

Claws scratching through the surface as if they were saws

She soon starts turning around; rotating

Attempting to lie down; evaluating

The bear’s pink tongue peeks out

Puffs of air float as she is slouched

She remains in an observing state

Like my dog Brownie; laying down in wait

Her eyes pulsate 

Through the sun; in a pure state

An innocent hazel like Brownie’s eyes; 

Breathtaking and crystalized

The second bear lifts its head lazily

At brief glances; her eyes averted hazily

I snap some pictures

Of these big bears in their fixtures

I leave the glass enclosure

Away from the bears and their splendiferous exposure
