The mighty oak stands tall and strong,

Its armor cracked and peeling,

Branches outstretched, their reach o'er long;

Shivering; yet without feeling.

Witness to man's disparaging torment,

Silently observing the absolute;

A sturdy warrior rooted dormant,

Eternally beholden to thine comminute.

Host to the benevolent Spirit,

A lightning-scorched, unyielding testimonial;

Attestation to higher perquisite,

Fate's perpetuity binomial.
