Keep Fishing Never Stop

It's not the cast that catches the fish

It’s a jerk on one end waiting, for a jerk on the other

It’s not a hobby, it's the way you live your life

(Location)

Searching for sparse weeds and the clear water

Small ripples, like a stone skipping across the water surface

Perfect depth, Perfect structure

(Bait)

A worm-like plastic cuts through the water

Fluttering and flashing as it moves majestically

Creating the perfect representation of a fish’s favorite food

(Cast)

My dad tying the lure and double-checking the knock

Pulling the line through your finger to check for frays

Whipping the lure into the air and allowing it to fly

(Fish)

The slight change in weight

The lure starts to travel in the opposite direction

Recognizing the perfect time to set the hook into the corner of the fish's mouth

(Fight)

Anxiety from not knowing how the fish is hooked.

Pull back only the right amount, in order not to knock the fish off

The feeling of landing the fishing and finally holding onto a trophy.

From the first cast of the day to the last

from not getting any fish all day to too many to count

I did not choose fishing, fishing chose me
