To Most People
To most people,
I’m just another black boy living in the streets.
To most people,
I’m a hoodlum because I live in the hood.
To most people,
I’m the kid voted “Mostly likely to steal or kill”.
To most people,
I’ll always live in the hood because I fit the “description”.
To most people,
I have a choice to be in this God forsaken place!
TO MOST PEOPLE,
I HAVE A CHOICE TO BE POOR TO THE DAY I DIE.
A CHOICE TO BE SCARED EVERY NIGHT I CLOSE MY EYES.
A CHOICE TO BE LOOKED AT LIKE I’M SOME ANIMAL!
Well I’m not,
I’m human too,
Just like you, a very unlucky one,
Unlike you.
From me to most people,
I was stuck with this place the day I came to life.
