Inspiration sounds from every tap on a computer keyboard

The writer; she is drawing out her sword!

Bold, inky letters shuffle themselves through the screen

Transforming into words; they create a scene

These words are then jotted out into paragraphs, chapters, and stories

The writer’s mind works like miners in quarries

At times, writing becomes exhausting and tiring

Yet, inspiration causes the mind to start rewiring

Sadly, when inspiration gets warmed by the flames of the writer

Laziness and Unwillingness’ chokehold on the flames become tighter and tighter

That chokehold causes the blackened waters of Laziness and Unwillingness to burst

And extinguish the flames; extinguishments are the worst

For they take away the inspiration; the love to imagine and create

New worlds and castles; It is not too late

For still, Inspiration can awaken from the blackened, watery ground

Of Laziness and Unwillingness; new life has been found!

The sword still shimmers brightly in the writer’s hands

As she faces the computer and writes about different lands

At night, as the writer sleeps, her mind

Recollects as many words and images as it can find

Images and words from her stories; they are stretched to create more room

For more ideas; the ideas are spun as carefully as a loom

For when the writer again opens her computer, she draws out her sword

Her fingers tapping rapidly on the computer keyboard
