you and I were like drugs and candy
I was lollipops and gumdrops
caramel and chocolate chips dipped in innocence and joy
you were nicotine and painkillers
anti-depressants and cocaine, drenched in alcohol and cigarette smoke
but still, I loved you like the addiction that you're made of
but soon I turned into lemon drops and black licorice, stale gummy bears and jawbreakers.
you turned me into something just like you, poisoning me until all that I had to give was the worst of me...
