When I’m happy:

I’m the blinding white of sun rays.

I’m the warmth you feel after a long-awaited hug.

I’m the neverending buzz of conversation.

But when I’m mad:

I’m the red of flushed cheeks.

I’m the chill of loneliness and hate.

I’m the neverending silence after an argument.

And maybe that’s why:

I try

        to stay

                   happy.
