Going Blind

i’m unsure
when I started going blind
to the good things in this world
Maybe
it was when
i knew those
i would move the stars for
were crying themselves to sleep
Maybe
it was when
i realized
people will change
& no longer look at me
the same
Maybe
it was when
i saw that
people are capable of such
hate
violence
anger
& carelessness
that i started caring
what i could see
because i came to the conclusion
that no one who
accepts these things
can really see
