Concrete Jungle
Entering New York City
For the first time
Was a culture shock.
Seeing the skyline
Along with the setting sun
Was a sight I will not forget.
Watching the inner workings
Was a sight to behold
For a little wisconsin born boy.
I found myself in a haze,
In between the hustle and bustle
Of times square.
True to its name,
The intricacies are not unlike
Those found in a clock.
Head spinning, I found myself
dazed and confused by it all,
And I found myself swept up by it all,
But it all became a little more clear
While at the top of the Empire State building.
I could watch the city move in all of its
Magical ways.
The dream ended soon, however,
And I returned to my seemingly mundane life back home.
