do you know how it feels
to trek your way through a cold,
long,
harsh winter?
your skin is dry and dull,
your bones are creaking,
aching,
your lips chapped?
i know how it feels
to be sad,
tired,
anticipating release.
but do you know how it feels
to see spring appear,
suddenly,
right in front of you?
a single flower blooms,
the air is warmer,
kinder,
your heart racing?
i know how it feels
because i feel it,
now,
because of you.
