Black Bird
Oh fly little blackbird
Over this blinding edge
Don’t you remember this fear and despair
Outside it is snowing embers
Fly through this sky set ablaze in fire and smoke
Red paint smeared on the bathroom floor
But in the outside world there is so much more
The sky is crumbling brought down by the flame
Outside it is snowing embers
Red paint is smeared on the bathroom floor
But outside there is so much more
Oh fly little blackbird
Over this blinding edge
Don’t you remember this fear and despair
Oh fly little blackbird
Pray for the children that cry everyday
For their mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers
Oh fly little blackbird
For I am only a faceless soul that has yet to see the light
Because that is the truth of war
