Fish Bowl
My thoughts echo against
the glass bowl,
my family staring in
at me, watching as I watch
the tiny bubbles
from the treasure chest
pop.
I try to swim up
and get air,
But I am stopped
by the lid,
So I sink
Into
the ground.
A fish swims
by me, brushing my leg
with its slippery fin.
I watch as it bangs
it’s head
Against
the glass
-once, twice, thrice.
I glance out
At my family,
Outside the orb.
Then I start
to sift through
the neon rocks
and try to find the bottom.
