Color Your World
My brain is gray -
the color of stormy clouds.
of worn-down roads.
of smeared lead.
My eyes are pink -
filtering out what I don't want to see.
seeing love where love does not exist.
making red flags look normal.
My heart is yellow -
gold to those willing to seek it.
pyrite to those who've since left my life.
sulfur to those testing my patience.
My guts are red -
full of repressed rage.
full of blood constantly reminding me I'm still alive, I'm still alive.
full of fire, passion constantly burning.
My hands are stained rainbow -
faded colors from the past, dripping out my fingertips.
familiar colors I've collected from those close to me.
filthy colors, mudded from mixing together too much.
