Where I'm From
I am from pasta and bread,
from Disney, safaries, and band.
I am from the concrete house surrounded by gates,
from the white house with blue trim built in 1937.
I am from the plains filled with African Animals.
I am from large family gatherings,
and blonde hair and blue eyes,
from Tonya, Tim, Lauren, Lydia, Courtney, Carson and Vennell.
I am from the yelling until someone understands,
from laughing like a maniac,
and Amazing grace, how sweet the sound.
I am from saved by Christ's sacrifice,
and never letting anything stop you.
I am from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Texas, and South Dakota,
and Chapati and Knoephla soup.
From the little girl who loved going on safaries with realives,
and spending hot days collecting rocks with Papa.
I am from the family connected through love,
but spread throughout the world.
