Alive Comes the House at Night

Alive comes the house at night   
 
The house was so quiet 
but then I heard the floor boards grumble. 
 
The pacing began to grow more rapid  
And a door slammed shut, almost off its hinges. 
 
And the moonlight seemed to grow dimmer 
By each passing hour 
 
The howl of a wolf in the night  
sang to the house and put it to rest.
