it doesn't hurt, i swear
it doesn’t hurt to see you
but it hurts to remember all what you’ve done
one day, you like me, the next day you ask ‘who?’
each memory drags me down, but would you look there? there’s the sun
it doesn’t hurt to realize you like someone that isn’t me
but what hurts is how you acted as though i was nothing
i don’t understand, what is it you can’t see?
yet , the person i know is ‘something’
it doesn’t hurt to know you’re gone
but it hurts to remember i wasted my time to try & impress you
all i want you to know is: i’m sorry. i was wrong
to attempt to impress you with things i couldn’t do
now you’re gone
i swear to god, that
i wake up, happier than i’ve ever been, waking up to the crack of dawn
& there we sat
when i look up at the sun, i am reminded
that no matter what, there is hope
anything can be mended
best of all, whatever im put through, i can & will cope

Poem of mine I wrote a while back. I'd appreciate feedback on it. Thank you.
