“Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing it’s stupid” -Albert Einstein

I am above all, yet not above any

I am not god nor one of many

I see and I feel the pain and the healing

I know everyone deeply and with that comes with their dealing

They all have issues that are small and great

With large companies and corporations that use them for bait

With perfect bodies and most followers meaning more than education

And the music industry with breakups at a flip of a station

Now don’t get me wrong I know there are beautiful daughters and sons

With whom are striving to make a difference by helping just one

Post a picture and get a reply

Hating yourself, just wanting to cry

With seeing only the pigment of the skin

We miss what matters and that is within

When we look at our neighbors  we only see red or blue

Or possibly elephants and donkeys too

with the politics and the hate

we must learn and create

A foundation of love in which we cherish

That will be too beautiful to perish

Though I am not of any importance

I just want to stop all this discordance

But you see I have no power to do this deed

It starts with you to take the lead

So shine the light on the world that it needs to see

Because it’ll be worth it I guarantee

The author's comments:

This piece is about someone who is looking at the world from the clouds. This figure is not a god nor a person. He/she is showing all the awful things and beautiful things about the world, as an observer. They are watching the world like a moving train set. I wanted this poem to reflect the world in a way that readers can relate to and can be inspired to change the world in their own ways. I want to change the world through writing so I’m hoping this is a good first step.
