Full Circle
They say diamonds are a girl's best friend
I don’t know who “they” are
But I do know
That I’ve always preferred
My simple circle chain that I wear every day
Maybe the circle does have diamonds,
At least fake ones, regardless
They still look like the
Glittering stones that anyone
Would struggle to deny they desire
I remember the first one I wore, when the
Necklace had a message I
Didn’t yet understand
Something everyone says, but
You don’t truly comprehend the meaning
You say it all the time in vain, and when someone
Hurts you, you hold this with you
Maybe you’ll feel better
“What goes around comes around”
In vain you think, they’ll get theirs too, someday
My friends always joked and laughed at me,
Asking why I always wore the
Stupid talisman
I held the secret meaning as a
Reminder, just so I wouldn't do something I’d regret
Until I did, just as we all do, it’s easy sometimes to
forget what’s right, do something
In the heat of the moment
We all try to forget when we
Make a mistake, they’re all trying to forget mine, too
