I have to dust my house

That is now as quiet as a mouse

So to the living room I go

Carrying a furniture sprayer and a dull yellow cloth in a tow

I remove the books and other items from the coffee table

That seems so still and stable

With the yellow cloth in hand, I remove the dust

With a SWISH; cleaning furniture is a must

Before I finished with the coffee table, I inspected it carefully

I was proud of myself, but I finished my job just barely

Throughout my house I cleaned and cleaned

Being very happy, with joy I beamed

Since I was done or so I thought, I marched off to the dining room

Seeing bowls of soup my mom placed on the table for my brothers and I to consume

Noticing me, she told me that more furniture needs my attention

Seeing that my break was short-lived, I wished that sentence wasn’t mentioned

I walked over to the TV stand

 With both eyes I scanned

And noticed that much dust was lying there

Undisturbed, I swear

With the yellow cloth in hand, I swiped

As fast as the letters in this poem I typed

Once I cleared the dust, I sprayed

On the TV stand very carefully; making sure that the wires nearby aren’t frayed

With the cloth I cleaned that little spray and I wiped the other side too

Both sides I cleaned through and through

Lastly, I cleaned the shelf that holds my mom’s china and silverware

I was also handling a china plate with special care

On the dining room table I lowered that china plate and picture frame

For both, the cautious handling was the same

When I finished cleaning the shelf, I put away both items

They’re both like a priceless diamond

Looks like my housework is done

Now it’s time to have some fun!
