gone
Isn’t it crazy how in a single moment
Everything you’ve ever known can just disappear?
One second the one you love can be sitting there in front of you
Then boom
Gone.
And in that small moment
It can feel like a lifetime.
You can feel your heart shatter
Glass shards, dripping with blood, piercing your chest at every angle.
You can feel your mind spin in circles
Every second of every memory flashing in blinding vivacity before your eyes
You can feel your lungs collapse and your ribcage turn to rubber
You can feel your stomach turn itself inside out then creep up and out of your throat.
In that small moment
Your entire world can come crashing around you
A single second and you can go from sitting comfortable and happy
And safe.
Thinking you have it all.
Next thing you know you’re standing in the very ashes of the one thing you cherish most
How do you deal with that?
In that small moment
When the person who was supposed to stay
Leaves.
And everything you were holding onto is ripped from your grasp
What do you do?
Do you force yourself to move on?
Pick yourself up and wipe off the blood and mud like it never happened?
Or do you force yourself to deal,
Just to end up right back where you started.
